FLOEX & TOM HODGE
Thursday 27 June / / CLUB
From the world of classical music and minimalism comes English pianist Tom Hodge, who has a strong penchant for collaborations – especially with musicians from the electro scene.
We’ve already spotted him as part of Pianist Interrupted with Frenchman Franz Kirmann. However, now the Brit is in cahoots with profuse Czech musician Tomás Dvořák, who’s been experimenting since 1996 under the name of Floex. The fruit of this project is a captivating album called A Portrait of John Doe. It’s a collection of baroque musical pieces that are a bucolic as a theme tune to a wildlife documentary and as menacing as an imaginary James Bond soundtrack. Floex & Tom Hodge are ambassadors of a romanticised post-electro rock, living in a spell-binding world.
