His third album called “XX5” came out in November 2018. What a coincidence: a quarter of a century – the same age as Georgio. The Parisian rapper has made Max Dormoy in Paris’ 18th arrondissement his stomping grounds. He first got into hip-hop when he was a kid, which wasn’t such a bad thing for someone who wasn’t quite cut out for school. This young whippersnapper sure has been a busy boy, from collaborations (with the crew 1995 and existential rockers Fauve), collectives (75e Session), online mixtape releases and the release of his wonderfully titled and extremely personal debut album “Bleu Noir” in 2015. Since then, Georgio has become one of the leaders of the new French rap scene, which according to him, is currently witnessing “a new golden age”. And between you and us, he’s certainly not wrong.
