KIDDY SMILE Live
Sunday 30 June
There are some life stories that even the more imaginative of Hollywood’s screenwriters couldn’t have come up. “Born to an immigrant, black and gay.” Having grown up in the depths of Yvelines, Pierre Édouard Hanffou, aka Kiddy Smile, has made this extraordinary description his very own so it sticks better with his destiny. From hip-hop battles at La Défense and the steps of the Élysée, this year, the multi-talented thirtysomething (stylist, DJ, club night organiser, voguing ambassador, LGBT activist, actor under Gaspard Noé) finally released his long-awaited debut album entitled “One Trick Pony”. On it, he professes his love for all things rap, house, techno and soul with a more Philly style, which can be heard on the single “Be Honest”. He’s a charismatic singer and talented reveller, and when he’s up on stage, Kiddy Smile distils a sweet euphoria that sure enough takes control over the public.
