20 years, already?! In 2003, Pedro Winter, then manager of Daft Punk, Cassius and DJ Mehdi, created Ed Banger Records, a Parisian label that would most intensely embody the French Touch 2.0. However, at the time, the wind was fully in the sails, austere and a bit cold, of the Berlin techno. Not really the type of Pedro, aka Busy P, who grew up skating, wearing fluorescent t-shirts and listening to rock music. Justice, the first powerhouse of the label, perfectly embodies such a hunger for renewal: if the sound is heavy and aggressive, it remains lively and danceable. For twenty years, Ed Banger will keep this ethos, with its pop illustrations signed So-Me and the signatures of SebastiAn, Breakbot, Uffie, Mr. Oizo or more recently Myd, Vladimir Cauchemar or 10LEC6. With “Pedro Winter Presents Ed Banger XX”, the boss of the 18th arrondissement of Paris, who recently revamped the Pigalle station with the colors of his label, will come to celebrate this nice anniversary… before leaving for another 20 years!
