Hiding behind this English name that’s shrouded with mystery (it’s the chief officer of stables of a king) is Tristan Casara, a former DJ from Nice who headed to Paris’ streets to make a name for himself remixing more or less well-known tracks. And straight out of the gates in 2014, he hit the jackpot when he metamorphosed the track “The Fade Out Lines” by Phoebe Killdeer, resulting in a heady, catchy electro tune. And then the following year, he doubled up for a home run with his album “The Wanderings of the Avener”, which saw him bring together all his musical favourites from authentic rhythm’n’blues to deep house via soul and techno. He went on the win a Victoire de la Musique French music award, then in 2018 he released a marvellous “adaptation” of Bob Dylan’s “Masters of War”, and now the Avener has announced that his second album is to be released in 2019. And not only that, he’ll be lighting up the dance floor under the starry skies of Europavox much to the delight of dance-lovers.
